Today was just, awesome.
I don't know why it just was. And even though I am stressed, in the grand scheme of things all this AP, class play, physics killing my life stuff doesn't really matter. Wait, I lie. Class plays matter. But but but I'm happy. Which feels so excellent. This year has been the longest up and down, happy and sad moment of my life. It's so refreshing just to have it all settle out to medicore happiness, though happiness all the same, as the end comes near. Maybe it's just the sun, but I like the feeling.

Plug:

CLASS PLAYS ARE ON MAY 16th AT 6:30! BE THERE TO SUPPORT THE SENIORS AND KNOCK ON LOTS OF WOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!! You really will see some quality shows. There will be no crap on that stage. The competition is going to be FIERCE!

After May 16th, I am pretty much done with high school. So odd and so indescribable for lack of a better word. But I am still happy.

Update [Apr. 17th, 2007|12:20 pm]
In list format, because that is the kind of mood I am in.

- University of St Andrews 2011, and I am excited about it. Transportation there and back for breaks is proving to be a little more difficult, but it should be sorted soon

- I am not officially Senior Sliding, but I am at the point where if I don't get the A or B I am not going to kill myself over it

-The Class Play is going really well. First run-through was a bit shakey. Many run-thtough coming up though so I am not worried. REMINDER: MEMORIZE YOUR LINES!

- Work is work and I have gotten used to the idea that I will be at Kids A Lot all summer, at least for the whole month of July and then some since St Andrews doesn't start until the end of September

- Nantucket was fun but rainy and sleep-filled (sleep part not a problemo though)

- My sister and mother are in Italy, leaving just me and my dad at home. My dad is at work all day this week. That leaves me at home with my AP books and the bad weather. There is no excuse for not studying now.

- I feel like the end of the year events are a bit of a mess currently but I think they will end up being fun. Prom date? undecided (not who, but if) dress? also undecided

- My dad and I get to do immigration forms and go to the British Consulate in Boston sometime over break. We also have to make a list of what things to get here and what to get there. The hassle of going to school in another country is becoming apparent. Once I get there though I believe it should work its self out.

- I had a horrible stomache ache last night

- Anyone up for a movie night tomorrow?

- My sister took my favorite CD with her to Italy. Darn.

- This is turning into more of a strain of thought and a to-do list rather than an actual post.

Synopsis: St Andrews 2011, AP studying, home alone, end of the year blah, yay class plays!
Pretty much it.

Maddness!!!! [Dec. 18th, 2006|02:28 pm]
I was accepted to not 1, but 2 higher education institutions today!!

I called St. Andrews this morning to check my application status to make sure they had everything and the receptionist said "Actually, they have already reviewed your file and you have been offered a place. Well done!" And then I just went to go get the mail and there was a lovely large envelope from Santa Clara University. They accepted me too, which wouldn't be a huge whoop since it was a safety school, but they are giving me a Dean's Scholars Award for my academic achievment which is a big deal!

I am really happy and excited!

Great sick day and even though I have to study Bio and English after work, I really don't care!!

College shmallege [Sep. 24th, 2006|03:50 pm]
Today I applied to college.
It was satisfying/exciting/odd.
Online applications rock. Especially those from the schools that really want you so they let you apply early without SATs, teacher recomendations, an essay, application fee etc. You basically write down your name and GPA and get handed an acceptance with some finical aid hopefully.

9 more?

So, school. It was weird and yet exciting. I was excited to see all the people I haven't seen all summer and yet I didn't fall in love with any of my classes or the class atmospheres. For the past few years I have had a few classes that were so amazing that I didn't want to leave them. This year, at least from the first day, nothing amazing seems to be happening. I am also rethinking this whole "taking 2 sciences" thing. It's kind of late to change it, but I don't like the whole 2 lab science schedule. C day will kill me. My only free is lunch and I have double lab which means 4 periods of science alone. Then again, it is one of the areas I actually like in academics and both the teachers are good. I guess it evens out.

Psych was nuts and amazing. I knew Ms. Lynn was a space cadet but I have never seen her take off before. I can already predict the conversations Sarah and I will be having across the classroom.

English...Reynolds is a nerd, in a cute way. This class has the potential for awesomeness.

I was only in Math for 5 minutes. The book looks nice. Then senior meeting. So we have our own prom at Gillette stadium. Kind of snazzy. I would still kinda prefer prom with only the awesome underclassmen in an awesome place that isn't a stadium. Is that just me?

Lunch...with a lot of girls and Greg.

That's pretty much it.

We're gettin' lobster with the Bobster... [Aug. 17th, 2006|06:36 pm]
Maine maine maine maine maine

I am done with Maine. Ready to go home. Not ready to go to school. (senior year eek)

I come home on Sunday
Be prepared

(lack of correct sentences and words due to summer laziness and general blah mood)

A few notes:

"...so do you have a meal plan?"

"I strike poses
like moses
leading my people to freedom
even my hoes's
I part the red sea
it's as easy as can be"

"Did it hurt?"

"Jeff is greek"

"I eat Cheez-Its on Sunday
It's God's day
I go to church
It's made out of birch
We chop it down
like a lumberjack
we cut it down"

"I live in a box
I don't wear socks
cause I can't afford them"

"I buy her donaughts when she is sick
but I won't get her jelly cause I'm a prick"

"Small animals"

Free Rap Session 2006: AMAZING

B-I-N-G-O
Thats how you spell
BINGO!

SO good

Schedule [Aug. 10th, 2006|11:00 am]
1. English H/AP Reynolds
2. Trig AE Sluyski
3. AP Bio Lab/Gym (semester 1) Marashio
4. AP Bio Dempsey
5. AP Psych Lynn
6. Lunch
7. Physics AE Palmer
8. Physics Lab

So it's not too bad. For the past three years I used to have nothing between third and sixth period but now I have two actual classes which is kind of ehh. I also have 4 classes before lunch but when I don't have physics lab I then have a double free period.

If you didn't notice I am not taking chorus next year :0( They couldn't schedule chorus in around the two science classes with labs. If I dropped phsyics then I would have to find another major class to sign up for and it got too difficult. So no chorus for me. Boo.

I am home, kind of. Not in Acton home but in Maine home. Weird, I know.

Spain was great by the end. A lot of good times, but I am glad to be home with family and friends and not old Spanish men yelling "Guapa!" at me in the streets. It's a good change.

I really love Maine. Even though I missing stuff at home like the fair and getting my scheduele (it kills me!) I don't mind too much because I'm in Maine. It's one of my more relaxing moments of the year.

Once I got home on Saturday I went to PA for college tour stuff for a few days. Saw Villanova, Bucknell, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, and Ursinus. Bucknell and Villanova were pretty similar except Bucknell was in the middle of nowhere and the main attraction was the Country Cupboard (not cupboard-ish at all). I really like Haverford but it will be a little bit of a strech for me. At Bryn Mawr the interviewer I think was purposely trying to kill me. It wasn't horrible by any means, it was just very long and I was very tired. Ursinus thought I was great and was talking about scholarships 20 minutes into the interview. Once I got to Maine I saw Bates which was pretty awesome. My tour guide was an AB grad so he knew how to relate AB to Bates.

I am really tired after 6 colleges in 5 days.
Hope everyone is doing well at home. After reading some people's schedules I realized how close senior year is...I should probably finish up the psych reading then.

News [Jul. 18th, 2006|06:58 pm]
So today I got my cartilege/upper ear pierced. It didn´t hurt too much but they had to use a needle because sometimes using a gun can create some problems. I have to wash it with soap, salt water, and disinfectant. Rigorous, no? Meh, better safe than sorry.

I have found other things ot do with my evenings besides watch people get drunk and then walk said drunk people home. LAst night we went to a cafeteria and played a game called parchis for almost 2 hours. I have also talked to the program coordinators about the drinking problem. Part of the reason I chose this program was because it had a zero tolerance rule and then I get here and everyone is drinking. They then procede to look at me like I am an idiot when I explain to them that I don´t drink or do drugs. SO I talked to the adults and it turns out they are on top of the problem and that a group of kids is one warning away form going home. I am guessing it is the group that is fondly called The Dream Team or The Barbies and The Kens by the rest of us. Anyways, I am really glad that neither of my roommates drink. We pretty much all have the same philosophy on that subject so we do other fun thigs at night.

BEing here has been nice and I have (finally) found my niche. I am ready to go home though. I kind of feel like I am in an alternate reality here and that it´s not really real life...It´s kind of weird but it feels like a vacation from the world and I am here in my own little Salamanca bubble. It´s been nice but I´ll be ready to go home next Saturday.

I should go buy salt and Q-tips for my ear and then study for my final.

See you all soon

So, I am here..in a office packed full of people so I am going to make this brief. The first few days really sucked. Things are getting better. My host madre is awesome but she feeds me too much food. I like my roommate from Kentucky. Uh...I miss you all unbelievable amounts (this is the first time I have ever been homesick). My Spanish class is un poco dificil so I am going to drop down into an easier class. Things are going well, but a month seems like it´s going to be a long time.

Let me know whats up with you guys. I can make a more detialed entry and do e-mail and whatnot when I get to the internet cafe tomorrow or sometime this week.

Hasta Luego!

Close my eyes and leap [Jun. 28th, 2006|07:49 pm]
Ok, so I am leaving for Spain in a little more than 12 hours. I am in a little better shape than I was at this time last summer. My bag is packed for the most part and I only really have to finish cleaning my room.

Emotionally though, I am not as excited as I was a few days ago. I know it will be fun and I know I will meet lots of new awesome people....but I don't want to miss out on stuff at home. And I know that's lame because nothing is happening at home, but still, it will be weird to be away for that long. I am determined to have fun though. As Ashley said it "Girls just wanna have fun"

So here I go. I will miss you all SO MUCH! I am serious about that too. Expect postcards and whatnot. I am not sure about my internet access while over there ("University computers will be available...You should buy time at an internet cafe" wtf?) but if I can get to a computer I will give you all an update.

Fun Picture )

I love you all and miss you already! See you in a month!!

[Current Location |Home]
[Current Mood | ecstatic]
[Current Music |Summertime - Mae]

It just kind of hit me a moment ago.
It's summer.
I am a senior.
And it's summer.

Let me take a moment to process that.

Oh, the summertime.
We could ride, we could ride.
Take my hand and watch the world go by.
Laugh or cry, well we need to try, get off the line, time to fly.
Oh, the summertime.

Here we are, here we are,
windows down we see a falling star.
Stop the car.
Waiting for nothing but our beating hearts, going far.

Oh, the summertime.
So feel the air, feel the air,
take the map and point to anywhere.
I don't care. Fingers through your hair,
the sky I've seen is blue and green.
Oh, the summertime.

English Final Parte Uno was not that bad. The poem was pretty good and the identifications were pretty easy. I almost said "AH! I know that!" out loud once. I caught myself beforehand.

Last Day A today. It was kind of sad.

3 more days an 4.5 finals left.

Breathe, just breathe.

....and then Summer of 2006 Awesomness will commence! One week!

So there was a chat room with a lot of the Spain kids. It was fun/concerning at the same time. Some people are "partiers" if you catch my drift. Parts of the conversation were hilarious.

Matt: So, who chills with Mary jane?
Some girl: Oh, I do
Lynds: Who is Mary jane? There isn't a mary jane in the group
Some girl: I like Jack Dan too. Chill with him a lot.
Lynds: Who is Jack? There isnt a JAck either. Guys, whats going on?
Matt: Uh, they are some references to some stuff...
Me: Even I got it
Lynds: Oh

later...

Matt: So, who has met the white lady? (that was the conerning part...cocaine? 17 year olds?)
*silence*
Lynds: I'm white.

I cracked up. Then I worried a bit. Hopefully I am rooming with a nice quiet girl.

Anyways, today was a good day.

Oh, classic work quote:

Me: Sarah, do you know what your parents are going to name your baby brother?
Sarah: I really don't know. Maybe he will come out with a name tag.
